Hypnosis for menopause: How hypnotherapy can help menopausal women

Date: 31 October 2021 | By: hotchicks

Menopause in the news

Menopause is BIG news. It is everywhere right now. Suddenly, something that was brushed under the carpet years ago, or shamefully talked about in hushed tones, is having its moment in the spotlight. As it absolutely should! We are women of the menopause revolution. We owe huge thanks to women like Diane Danzebrink for the Make Menopause Matter campaign. And to Carolyn Harris MP who has tirelessly campaigned for HRT to be free for women in England, as it is in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Celebrities like Davina McCall and Penny Lancaster have openly talked about their personal experiences. How times have changed, for the better.

The folly of youth!

I think it’s fair to say that when we’re younger we give little or no thought to the menopause. If I’m honest, there was a part of me that even looked forward to it! Because no longer having monthly periods would absolutely simplify my life. But that was until it happened. And I don’t think I’m alone in saying that I was totally unprepared for the monumental impact of menopause.

The brutal impact of menopause

We shouldn’t underestimate the sadness that many of us feel when we reach menopause. The realisation that we are no longer fertile can genuinely leave us bereft. And as our hormones fluctuate, so do our emotions. Those hormonal changes, however, don’t just occur at menopause (usually around 51 years of age). Oh no, we can start experiencing symptoms much earlier. I had no idea what perimenopause was until I was on the other side of it. It’s only now, as a post-menopausal woman, that I’m able to look back and join those hormonal dots!

Hormone Replacement Therapy

Fortunately, help is at hand. Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is a welcome lifeline for many women. It’s important to discuss your options with your doctor. We know that many women are still reluctant to take HRT. But it’s generally considered very safe. Furthermore, HRT can now take the form of gels or patches which lessen risks even more. Read more about it here.

However, there are women who aren’t medically suited to HRT. Where is the lifeline for those women?

Alternative menopause treatments

If you are unable to take HRT, then you’ve probably researched alternative menopause treatments. There are so many products out there that it’s difficult to know where to start. Then there’s the expense. It’s very disappointing spending a lot of money on something that doesn’t have the desired effect. That’s not to say the products aren’t good. It’s just that what works for one woman may not work the same way for another.

Hypnosis for menopause symptoms

Most people have heard of hypnosis. Because of its association with entertainment, however, it tends to get overlooked as therapy. As an experienced hypnotherapist, I know just how effective hypnosis for menopause can be. Read more about how it works here. Not only can it help with the psychological effects, but hypnotherapy can also help with the physical effects of hot flushes. That said, hypnosis for menopause shouldn’t be thought of as a magic wand. Like anything, it must be practised regularly to get the best results. But it can be a brilliant aid for menopausal women. That’s why I created a range of instantly downloadable hypnosis audios specifically for menopause symptoms.

Of course, hypnosis isn’t for everyone. That’s why I offer all Hot Chicks customers a free audio that they can listen to at their leisure. The recording is a full hypnotherapy session. It starts by progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) which is used to induce a hypnotic state. I then use positive suggestions designed to help you feel beautifully relaxed and positive. Find out about the free session here.

Finally...

It’s not all doom and gloom! If menopause is wearing you down, I promise you will feel better, and the difficult days will pass. We are fortunate that we live in a time where help is available. Never be afraid to ask for it. Menopause is a natural transition that we go through. You’re going to be just fine!
